Oct 2004

We'd just got the destructible landscape working here, hence the big craters, and shadows working for the first time. The helicopter model was in, but untextured.

Jan 2005

The helicopter movement system was just implement here. We were really pleased with the 3D helicopter movement arrow and spent a couple of days playing with them.

Mar 2005

We were still using bitmap icons at the bottom right of the turn setup screen, and we had a live minicam in the top right of the setup screen. We had no camera modes other than the (then) default minicam mode, so there are no camera options on the turn playback screen.

April 2005

Loads of improvements to the graphics engine were happening this month. We added battlements to the tops of buildings, to break up the blockiness a little, and other cosmetic environmental models, such as palm trees and blades of grass. We also added a 'skirt' of sea surrounding the island, and other effects like 'noise' in the landscape mesh for rocky terrains.

Sept 2005

I think we'd just got the final character models in here, but with no animation, hence all the characters are stood in the default position with their arms pointing outwards.
